Goodbye

I sat on my swing under the stars
Listening to all of the busy cars

As I look up at the sky so blue
I catch myelf thinking of you

Of all the times we talked
Of all the paths we walked

I remember when I danced on your toes
And when you'd kiss my nose

And then I think of when you were ill
And you kept joking still

You told me not to fear death
But to enjoy every single breath

Tears began to roll down my face
No one can ever take your place

And I keep looking at the sky
And for the last time I tell you goodbye

It is Still Not Too Late

Today the world seems like its upside down
No matter where I look things spin around

People kill and hurt and fight
People dying for what is right

Bombs dropping
Hearts stopping

Why can't there be peace for a day
Why can't we put hate out of the way

Will fighting fix what is already shattered
Will we ever know if our wars mattered

Will this misery and despise never end
Will we leave this to for our children to mend

There is still time to turn back
To fulfill what we lack

Time to patch up every old wound
To recover everything wracked and ruined

Time to teach our children not to hate
It is still not too late.
