Daydream

Darling, I just desired
To have my wistful cliche
The one that's perched on
My nonsensical, chimerical cloud nine

Where I slouch at a sidewalk cafe
On the Cote d'azure and pause to sip
A chocolatey, frothy beverage sans lait

Darling, the rain drenched streets,
Faint salty sea breeze,
And freshly brewed coffee
All intertwine to fill my pen
With a renewed anxious vigor

When you next return to my
Thoughts I will see you, as always,
In a white shirt cuffed past the elbows,
And bare footed in jeans
Do you go over me in your mind, too?

Darling, the art is exquisite
My wide-brimmed hat
(From Panama, remember?)
Is not preventing freckling

Oh, but here I am
Fulfilling my fantasy of
What I suppose Monet
Or maybe Renoir and Degas did
Except that I'm filling the empty canvas with words

Darling, I never expected
To miss you quite this much
So it's to you that I'm writing
Here on this sunnily blissful day

To let you know that
In my cliche of perfection
You are the muse
I conjured with
My imagination

Darling, do forgive me
You're just far more
Exciting and wonderful
Than if your existence
Were
Tangible

your poems have changed so much.
i like this one though. it's just like, oh darling, and very daydreamy actually. it kind of has the train of thought of a daydreamer. it's like complecated simplicity if that makes any sense.
