Together in Time
Somewhere in the yawning abyss of time
We're together on a breezy day that is simply sublime
Perhaps we're under a chartreuse umbrella drenched in rain
We could be meandering down a leaf-littered lane
Or suppose we're at a local al fresco cafe
Sipping mint tea and sharing a souffle
Occasionally I wonder if we're dangling our legs and feet
In a cool cerulean wave beneath the tropical sun's heat
What if your hand rests atop mine on an ivory key
While you're attempting to teach me a sonorous melody
Maybe we're painting a gargantuan masterpiece
On the side of an airplane hanger in Nice
If' I'm mowing the high-grown grass
You'll pour me lemonade in an ice-cold glass
So, if I imagine that you're out there waiting somewhere
Then life just might be easier to bear
